Provision of the online offer and web hosting

We process user data (in particular the IP address) in order to be able to provide the content and functions of our online offer to the user’s browser or device. Specifically, we use the cloud infrastructure of Oracle Corporation (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) for hosting, operated in the Frankfurt am Main, Germany data center (region "eu-frankfurt-1"), i.e. within the EU. Server access is logged in "server log files" (page/file requested, date/time, transferred data, browser/OS, referrer URL, IP address, requesting provider). Log file data is kept for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted or anonymised, unless retention is required as evidence in an individual case. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR).

Use of cookies

We use technically necessary cookies (session ID, login status) to enable use of the forum. These cookies do not require consent under German law (§ 25 (2) TTDSG), as they are essential for providing the service you explicitly requested.

Registration, login and user account

Users can create a user account (username/pseudonym, password, e-mail address). Pseudonyms may be used instead of real names. When using the registration and login functions, we store the IP address and the time of the respective user action to protect against misuse. User profiles are not publicly visible — they can only be viewed by other logged-in, registered members, not by guests. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR).

Community functions

Posts and content created by users are publicly visible and accessible, including to visitors who are not logged in. The IP address and timestamp of each post are stored for the protection of the community. Users may edit and delete their own posts. Sending of system e-mails (registration, password reset)

For sending e-mails required for account management (e.g. registration confirmation, sending a new password for "forgot password" requests) we use the e-mail delivery service Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), a service of Brevo SAS, 8 rue de Londres, 75009 Paris, France. The data required for the respective delivery (in particular the recipient’s e-mail address and the message content) is transmitted to Brevo, an EU-based processor. We only send necessary system and account-related e-mails through this service, no advertising or newsletter e-mails.

Rights of data subjects

You have the rights under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR, in particular: right of access, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to restriction of processing, right to data portability, right to object, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
